Magnolia Fire Chief Gary Vincent and Chief Master Mechanic Jack Maignaud, along with Assistant Chiefs Chuck Grant and Kevin Walters, conduct final inspections of two new Magnolia Fire Department water tanker fire trucks at the Ferrara Fire Apparatus manufacturing facility in Holden Louisiana. Due to the lack of fire hydrants in the Magnolia area, these water tanker fire trucks play a crucial role in both fighting fires and keeping insurance rates low in the community. It takes about one year for the trucks to be designed, contracts awarded, manufacture the fire trucks, and deliver them to the Fire Department. Each truck holds 3,300 gallons of water and has a fire pump capable of producing 2,000 gallons of water per minute at 150psi. The two new fire trucks will be located on FM 1486 and FM 149.
