Crews Tuesday night worked on deploying the pre-connected hose lines. Once charged with water these hose lines weigh hundreds of pounds and take a coordinated team effort to manage. Each time you turn a corner in a building the hose line creates a pinch point. Many people know exactly what this is like when they stretch their garden hose around their house. Usually after you go around 2 corners you cannot pull the hose any further and have to back track to move the slack. We train on putting firefighters at those pinch points, so they can assist in moving the hose line forward, and we do not lose any time. Our business is all about speed and efficiency!
